These recommendations are Albums that I think are great listens all the way through. Hopefully they’ll turn you on.
Steve Winwood’s About Time came out in 2003 and is one of my favorite all time recordings. It has a very groovy Latin vibe going on from the timbales, congas and drums but it’s also got kinda a Traffic 2.0 vibe from Steve’s organ and singing and the guitar and the woodwinds. …and all the song writing is just A+. I could go on. Just check it out!
Playing on it –
- Steve Winwood – vocals, Hammond B3 organ
- José Pires de; Almeida Neto – guitar
- Walfredo Reyes, Jr. – drums, additional percussion
- Karl Vanden Bossche – congas
- Richard Bailey – timbales
- Karl Denson – saxophone, flute
All the songs on this album are great but here’s my favorite cut, Domingo Morning.
